A Strange Thing ...

Popped into Waterstones today, and noticed something very strange........

The once very large glass display cabinets for readers and accessories is now taken up posters for book-signings and new novels, which I'm not surprised by - we knew they were closing it down.

But on top they have one Cybook(? ) on a stand, touch screen, 6" but doent work ; one Opus/Colour Bookeen , smaller, works, but not totally; and then, strangely, a big sign for "our new reader, the future, blah blah," and a picture of an iRiver - but no physical model on show. And none available instore.

The staff sadly shrug, they are not in the loop, it seems.

Odd, and very amateurish for Waterstones..........

Odd indeed, Birmingham High Street currently has three Cybook Opus, assorted Elonex (eink and LCD), a 350 and 30 odd 650s plus all the display stands full... where's your Waterstones?

We've been through this before, elcreative ! Taunton/Exeter/Tiverton branches.....
Elonux, that's the one !

Do yours have this "push" on iRiver too ?

[ By the way, you might have a very lucky store, following the Distribution centre blaze in Bristol ! Electrical stuff as well as 3m CDs went up.......]
