PRS 650 - Stylus
The part number for the stylus is A1786097A (that's for a black PRS 650) but is currently unavailable as per the client services representative that I spoke with today. She said to check back on a leter day to see if the status changed. The number is 1-800-488-7669 and sadly for people outside of the US (like me) doesn't know about providers other that in the US.

I found this http://www.ersatzteilservice24.eu/ta...FOR-BLACK.html when I Googled the part number A1786097A. Here is the contact page http://www.ersatzteilservice24.eu/kontakt/ where you can send a message to ask about delivery to your country:

Die Stifte von Prs-350 und 650 unterscheiden sich um ca. 3mm Länge, die Plastekuppe vom 650-er lässt sich abschleifen und mit Nagelpolierer glätten und passt dann! Stifte von Prs-650 und 950 sind identisch. |

If in desperate straits, a pencil with eraser tip works!
In the UK, Poundland sell a selection of DS, Nintendo pattern types - all too thick for 650, but a bit better than the pencil route. A wide elastic band across reader top/bottom, or around cover, will keep it under control when not in use. That's while you're waiting for any response from Sony (lay in a few replacements is my advice !) And considerably cheaper |

Rough translation of Post #19
The pins (ie stylus) of PRS-350 and 650 differ by about 3 mm in length, the plastic tip from 650, it can be sanded and smoothed with nail polisher (ie nail file), and then adjusts (ie fits)! Pins (ie stylus) PRS-650 and 950 are identical. http://www.ersatzteilservice24.eu/in...3fef7ba42174a7 Last edited by boxcorner; 02-21-2011 at 03:45 AM. |
