I thought I was keeping up with gadgets, but I had never heard of the Dyson Air Multiplier.

Don't you think they lose their credibility when they put a device at #2 that wasn't available to reviewers until this week? And for all of 2009? I think it's especially interesting considering the poor reviews coming in (NY Times, Engadget, etc)

The Nook was available to reviewers before this week.

That said, you shouldn't put much credence in most of these "best of" things, imho. The "Crunchpad" was given an award by Popular Mechanics, and look how that turned out.

Umm, didn't Amazon start the e-reader trend (or at least bring it to the mainstream)? Sony was earlier than B&N as well.

Ho well. I love my K3, nook, and NC any way.

The Kindle wasn't the first. Ereaders have been around for at at least 10 years or more. But earlier doesn't always mean better, especially in technology.
