Would You Buy It Again (KSO)?
KSO owners, I'm curious. If you could go back in time to when you bought your KSO, would you do it again? Or would you pony up the extra $25?

Do it again; $25 is $25. Also, the savings from the offers I've jumped on have made my KSO free.
Besides, I never see the screensaver ads unless I go out of my way to see them and the small ad banner on the bottom of the home page (which I rarely visit) is all but invisible to me. |

I'd probably still get it--but I only just got the KSO so who knows, maybe the ads will annoy me eventually. Mostly, though, I'm of the same opinion as tubemonkey: $25 is $25, and I can buy books with that. I wish I'd gotten it soon enough to get some of the better offers, though. And I am finding the oil of olay ad tiresome. But mostly I don't really look at them, so....

In my case I returned a KSO that came with a free $25 gift card to get in on the ads, so I saved nothing with the swap. Since then, every ad has been worse than worthless so I was the sucker.
I am planning to use the upcoming $20 gift card offer but it is doubtful that anything after that will be of any value. |

Wasn't available in Oz when I bought our 2 Kindles, and the GL didn't like the sound of having ads, but have since read the ads aren't really noticeable. The special offers definately interested us though (half price Amazon vouchers from time to time?)

I thought the KSO was only available in the US, for now -- so I'm puzzled by the Aussie posting!!

How I wish I could go back in time and pay that $25. I am SOOO tired of looking at Oil of Olay ads.

Sure. I don't see the problem in with the ads. They don't pop up while reading a book, so I really don't notice them.

Ads don't bother me at all. I'm too busy reading on my KSO to notice them that much. They are better IMHO than most of the dead author images which haven't changed in several years.
I suspect in a few months someone will jailbreak 3.2.1 and we will be able to get the screensaver hack again. If so, I figure looking at the ads for six months is more than enough to give Amazon their $25 worth, so I'll consider jailbreaking after six months. |

More people should learn the difference between seeing and looking. It's like hearing and listening. I can't imagine people who sit and look at the screensavers.
If there is a KSO version of Kindle 4, I'll certainly get one. |

Good luck with that: Originally Posted by NiLuJe View Post * Once and for all, the goal of the screensavers hack is to allow custom images on *regular* Kindles, it doesn't, and will never 'help' you bypassing something you agreed to (ads). |

In anycase, I am getting tired of looking at the ss with the ads in it, but if they ever throw up ads I can use I will feel better about my purchase. As of right now I would vote maybe Last edited by volwrath; 06-15-2011 at 05:54 PM. |
