Can I have "dummy entries" in my Calibre library?

I use Calibre to manage all my ebooks, and I created a custom column called "Audio" (yes/no field) to flag whether I also have the book in audiobook format.

Problem is, I now have some audiobooks that I don't have or *want* to have the ebook version, but I'd still like an entry for that book in my Calibre library so I can track whether I have the audiobook or not.

I'm not sure if Calibre can simply manage the audiobook itself rather than using a dummy entry, but I don't really want this, due to the file sizes of audiobooks (they already exist in my iTunes library, I don't want to keep duplicates of them).

Thanks

You can create an "Empty Book". Right Click on the Add Books button or Ctrl + Shift + E

There's also a plugin you'll probably find useful Metadata Reader Plugin

Actually, I think right-clicking "Add Books" and choosing "Add by ISBN" does exactly what I need!

Actually "Add from ISBN" doesn't work (fully). I enter an ISBN, choose either "Download Metadata only" or "Download both", Calibre seems to go through the motions, but when done, the entry is in Calibre as "Unknown" and the only metadata is the ISBN ID.

However if I then right-click the book and choose "Edit Metadata" I can download it...

The last time I used used from ISBN, I entered a list of ISBN (10 and or 13) with each on a new line (I used a barcode reader to enter the EAN numbers)

When I submitted the list, Calibre fetched all metadata and covers and applied the tag I had configured to all (ISBN valid) items found
