Metadata Question
I have many many metadata files in my Calibre folder. Do they all need to be there? Should I delete old ones and keep only the newer ones?

If you mean the metadata.opf files there should only be one per book title. 12000 books = 12000 metadata.opf
They are there for restoring the database. Once you turn them on you can't turn them off AFAIK. Helen |

I've heard bad things can happen to your database if you mess 'under the hood' in Calibre. Best not to touch anything in the directory system.
