Copyright, Artificial Life, and James Joyce
I truly had no idea which forum to post this in...from a Carl Zimmer Blog at Discover:
Last year I wrote about how Craig Venter and his colleagues had inscribed a passage from James Joyce into the genome of a synthetic microbe. The line, “To live, to err, to fall, to triumph, to recreate life out of life,” was certainly apropos, but it was also ironic, since it is now being defaced as Venter’s microbes multiply and mutate..... http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/lo...s-james-joyce/ News report on the original story: http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/20...ic-life-genome Last edited by kennyc; 03-21-2011 at 07:27 AM. |
