It's definitely still worth contacting CS. At the very least they'll probably offer a discount on a replacement Kindle, and they may well replace it free of charge even if, strictly speaking, it's not something that the warranty covers.

Is there any way Direct sunlight thru a window can damage the PW? When I not reading & so I wont accidently roll over on it I slide it up on the Window Sill next to my bed.

Very unlikely, unless you live in an extremely hot climate.

My son pressed firmly where to white dots were & they vanished for a few days. They come back & he did it again. I am confused? Is this really broke or not?

Almost sounds like the light layer is delaminating from the rest of the screen in a few spots.

They wanted to know if I dropped it or got it wet. Since neither has happened I said no. So they going to replace it with another PW2 Yes it will be New! Seems they had New ones they hold back till they don't need them for replacements.

You won't be able to tell the difference between a new and a refurbished unit. There's no difference.

I don't care for Refrib electric or electronic products ... Never know how the original owners treated them.

Keep your existing one if you don't like the idea of a refurbished one. No one's making you accept it.

I had no Choice no more than I had a choice on the Payment method. The Tech said it was going to be a New PW2 then Amazon emailed me the return address label. No other information until I Packed & sent the PW I had back to them. Within a few hours of giving it to UPS I got home & checked my orders online. THEN I Saw it was a Refurb PW2 being sent Not a New PW2. [tricky & I also hate being lied to or tricked ]
