Barry Eisler and Amanda Hocking (I know, the topic title isn't clear).

Hmm. This came together really fast!

Agreed. Fantastic interview. It really shows how much of their choices are based on their career trajectories and what they're looking for. Amanda is looking to extend her name recognition to the paper book world and get that giant marketing machine working for her, and Barry wants profits over the long-term and. It makes sense to me.

On a random note, isn't it interesting how targeted product placement is occurring in more sophisticated manners in online articles? Some of it is casual and probably not an advertisement (the link/shoutout to Amanda's cover artist), and some of it is definitely targeted advertising (link to the self-publishing book). I'm not complaining. I like targeted advertising if it is very relevant and fits well into the main material (i.e. not trying to sell you a badly edited ebook version of the blog).

Thanks for the link! Good stuff. Eisler's reasoning sounds about like what I expected.
