Python function terminated unexpectedly

I have a mobi file that Calibre will not read. It dies with the message

Code:
  Python function terminated unexpectedly
[Error 5] Access is denied (Error Code: 1)
Both mobi2mobi and MobiUnpack are happy with it, but the latter reports that it contains unknown EXTH types 403, 405, 406 and 407. It contains 77 images.

Would it be useful to make the file available for diagnostic purposes?

Thanks Kovid. That is part of the story, but the error appears to "stick" even once it is fixed. I had Calibre already open, and was using `Open with` from the Windows Explorer context menu to open the mobi file. It seems that, once this error has occurred once, attempting to open any file this way (or even just clicking on the Calibre desktop icon) will regenerate the message. It is fixed by closing Calibre completely and reopening it.
