Amazons Kindle Store öffnet sich für deutsche Autoren und Verlage
Im englischen Forum hat Nate the Great gerade auf eine aktuelle Amazon-Pressemitteilung hingewiesen, wonach sich Amazon nun auch für Verlage und Autoren außerhalb der USA öffnet:

Jetzt hätte ich beinahe einen "Ich habs ja gesagt"-Post geschrieben. Nein, war ja klar, dass Amazon eher früher als später auf die national abgekapselten Verlagsstrukturen in Europa reagieren wird. Prinzipiell passiert hier etwas ganz Interessantes: Die Verlagsbranche hat Amazon als Teufel gegeißelt und ungeschickt ohne nennenswerten Erfolg versucht eigene Plattformen auf den Weg zu bringen. Wohlgemerkt, Amazon war da noch gar nicht im Bereich eBooks in Europa unterwegs. Jetzt öffnet sich Amazon auch in Europa Verlagen UND Autoren. Damit tritt Amazon sowohl als teuer zu bezahlende Vertriebsplattform für die Verlage (wie schon lange erwartet) aber eben auch als "Verlagshaus" auf und stellt sich in direkte Konkurrenz.
Es tritt genau das ein, was die Verlagsbranche gern durch das Schaffen von Tatsachen verhindern bzw. unwichtig machen wollte: Ein immer mehr nach eBooks fragender Markt wurde nur unvollständig entwickelt und gesättigt; die Verlagesbranche kommt Kundenwünschen bis heute nur mangelhaft entgegen und jetzt macht Amazon die Tür auf und lädt die Autoren ein mit Amazon eBooks direkt zu verkaufen. |

netseeker hat es schon gut auf den Punkt gebracht. Das könnte sich nun zu einem iTunes für Bücher entwickeln. (In Amerika ist es das ja schon fast)

Nee, komme grad vom Einkaufen und werd völlig überrascht ...
Ich hatte vorgestern noch auf DTP vorbegesehen und nichts neues im Forum lesen können. Daher habe ich gestern bei Smashwords angefragt, wie es bei denen aussehe und wollte am Wochenende eigentlich über die die ersten eBooks hochladen. Ich sehe mir das heute noch an. Wenn es vernünftig umgesetzt ist, dann biete ich mein Sortiment in Kürze auf dem Kindle an. |

Upps, okay, klappt, und das erste eBook ist bereits "under review".
Die bisherige Abfrage nach einer US-Steuernummer und einem US-Bankkonto entfällt, wenn man als Land z.B. "Germany" auswählt. Den Preis habe ich in US$ angeben müssen. Bin mal gespannt, wann es zu ersten Reibungspunkten zwischen dem Börsenverein und deutschen Kindle-Verlegern wegen eines Buchpreises kommt, der vom Wechselkurs abhängt ... Und - sehr schön! - es lässt sich auswählen, ob man sein eBook mit oder ohne DRM versehen möchte. Ich halte euch logischerweise auf dem Laufenden. Last edited by K-Thom; 01-15-2010 at 10:41 AM. |

Danke, für die Einblicke, das ist wirklich interessant das alles auch aus Verlagsperspektive mitzubekommen
Fehlt nur noch, dass man auch EPUB auswählen kann |

Gerüchte gibt's immer Die Frage ist, wo dabei der Wahrheitsgehalt ist...
Wild am spekulieren ist man beispielswiese immer bei Kindle Review / iReader Review, so etwa hier: Kindle 3 – Reviewing the Possibilities Der Autor dort hat nur einen Narren an Listen gefressen

Spannend ist die nächsten Wochen natürlich auch die Entwicklung von Angebot und Preis von deutschen Zeitungen und Zeitschriften im Kindle Store. Bis jetzt gibt's ja nur FAZ und Handelsblatt.
Ob es da eine Kettenreaktion gibt, nach dem Motto: Ein Anbieter geht voran und die andern bekommen Torschlusspanik? |
