Where does the language come from in Book Details?
Hi everyone,

I noticed that most of my book in foreign language are considered "ENGLISH" when I check them up in the Details area of my Kobo.

It is not the case for Italian, or German books. Is the list of languages limited iin the details section, or are the books in "Sanskrit" "chinese", "arabic" also labeled english on your Kobos?

Of course, Calibre acknowledges that the metadata of the file is "Chinese", "arabic", "sanskrit"...

From a quick check of the few non-English books I have, if the language in the OPF matches one of the languages available in the settings, it is used. If not, then it shows as English.

Hi David,

Thanks for checking, same conclusion here... without the coding insight of course.

So there is at least one none latin language recognised: Japanese!

I guess I won't have to stay late tonight to learn the complete RFC5646... 10 tags are enough for my Kobo
