Calibre has a serious bug with KF8 & embedded fonts
I can convert an ePub with embedded fonts using Kindlegen and it works fine as far as the Kindle Tough works. I can use the embedded fonts no problem. But when I use Calibre to convert the ePuyb to KF8, the embedded font fail to work.

This is something that really needs to be fixed..

Open the azw3 in Kindle previewer or on the kindle fire. Do the fonts show up?

If they do tell amazon to stop pretending that the Touch has kf8 support.

If I convert the ePub via Kindlegen, the fonts display on the Kindle Touch just fine. But if I use Calibre, the Kindle Touch doesn't even know they exist. But, Kindle for PC will display the fonts no problem.

I might have access to a Kindle Fire sometime during the week and can test things out.

That's because kindlegen does not obfuscate the fonts in its mobi output and amazon's truly pathetic Kindle Touch KF8 reader cannot handle obfuscated fonts.

So can this be fixed so Calibre can be used to generate KF8 from ePub with embedded fonts?
