Making a picture the beginning of a new page
Hi
I am using apple's Pages as my word processor. I am using their export to epub as my starting point and then messing with it in both sigil and calibre to make things work. Any idea in calibre how to make a picture the beginning of a new chapter? currently, I can't figure this out in pages so I am putting a white dot and styling that as the chapter head and then putting the picture right under it. It does the job, but I would rather figure out in Pages or in calibre how to actually "style" the picture as the beginning of the chapter. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Either physically split the html file so the picture is at the very beginning of the new chapter file or apply the css attribute/value "page-break-before: always" to the html element preceding (or containing) the image.

The usual chapter head is just an <h2>Chapter X</h2> tag.
Put the image in instead of the words "Chapter X". You should use alt text to define what gets put in the ToC. Some people use "Chapter X <br/> <img...../>" instead, to fit both a picture and some text, you could do something similar. |
