wikipedia SOS 2006 in epub

This is my first post. Well, in fact is the second after the introduction.

I have seen there are several threads about simplified versions for offline wikipedia. As they are old it seems it is better to create a new thread. THe latest thread originated in this subfolder. I do not think it does anything particular to do wit the Kobo reader. I do not have a Kobo reader. May be my post shouldbe somewhere else.


I (still) have a Palm Tx. I use on it the wikipedia SOS 2006 off line as a plucker file.

I took it from the user wizzy in wikipedia, here some time ago:

This user was very skillfull in converting the original SOS children 2006 CD parsing and reducing the size of the images.

A lot of people worked on the SOS Children CD and the other further versions.

I thank them all.

However the original plucker pdb file is not there anymore (the link is dead).
In my Palm the file works perfectly smooth and it has images and text.

It was intended for educational purposes.

What I have done recently is to convert the pdb file into an epub with Calibre. It works quite well, I think.

May be someone may use it and comment if they find it useful.

In addition there may be people also who may be much more skillfull than me regarding the way this was done. There are some descriptions in:
