Kindle Touch battery now last couple of days
Ok,
I'll admit my KT was forgotten in a box, after receiving my Kindle PW, however, I started bringing the KT to work and noticed that battery goes to zero in a few days. Did the battery got broken because low use or got some "memory"? I wonder if someone else is experience the same issue and how he fixed it.. I don't want to trash my KT yet ... :-) |

I have seen the same phenomenon on my PW. I think the battery meter gets goofy when the battery goes completely flat.

I haven't fixed it. I think it's still wonky. I just charge mine every 3-4 days. I doubt the battery indicate is correct, but I don't worry about it.

Run down the battery to empty and then charge overnight. That should re-calibrate the meter. Then run down to the 15% notice and do at least a 4 hour charge each cycle.

My K2i was doing that and it ended up being a bad/dead battery....replaced battery and all has been well since. (I don't own a KT, so I don't know if you can replace the battery - I'm sure someone around here knows).

There is a chance that if the battery discharged completely 0% or so. And if the battery had some age to it, it could have been damaged. You could try several charge/discharge cycles to see if you can recover some charge time life.
Is that the model that the battery is glued in and not easily replaced? Now that I have several devices, I try and make sure that the ones I am not using are turned off and not in standby/sleep, just for that reason in the o/p. And try and make a point to check every month and recharge as needed. I have found with all of the rechargeable battery's in all my toys that to keep them from going bad because of non use (out of sight, out of mind) That the best way to keep on top of everything is to set a repeating calender notification to check battery's every month. Works great for my case of "c.r.s" and keeps things up and ready when needed! Last edited by DustyDisks; 01-19-2013 at 12:09 PM. |
