Hi You can use the mobireader for version 3 vonly for scrolling you need to use the volume keys on Nokia 5800. I use the autoscroll option. I bellieve this is the only viable option to read as of today. Let me know if you have any other software for 5800\

Hi all,

I have a Nokia 5800 and I am using a java-based ebook reader app to read my ebooks in TXT format. The app is called Tequilacat Ebook Reader - it supports the touchscreen and also works well in full screen reading mode.

but how do you get the Acrobat reader on the mobile ?
You actually have to buy Adobe Reader (what's up with that) from Quickoffice. You can either buy and download from HERE or get it from your Download! icon on the 5800 and pay for it OTA.

At $15, though, I would ask yourself if there is any PDF that can'r wait until you get to a computer.

By the way, I have an email from ereader/Fictioneer saying the following:

Quote:
We are working on a version of our eReader reading software for this platform (Symbian OS 9.4 + S60 platform 5th Edition), however, we do not have an exact release date at this time.
Yayy! Hope it is soon!

Alas, after having put my e-book on full screen with above e-reader, I can't go out of it anymore. You have a solution for this?

thx!

I haven't tried that reader program, but did you try the red button (will usually allow you to quit any program).

If that doesn't work, hold (don't just press) the white middle button. It shuld bring up the list of running apps. Switch to another app. Then do it again and kill the reader if it is still running.

Hey, I am trying to use tequilacat too but everytime I try to install, the phone will display this message "Jad and Jar attributes do not match". Do you know why? The jad file created is always 1 kb.

p.s. I am a Malaysian too. Hiya!

Good news! May 18th iSilo release a beta for the Nokia 5800 XM.

http://www.isilo.com/index.htm

Now at least I can read books from manybooks.net. while I am waiting for ereader.

Seems to be pretty stable. Has some problems that I will give them in feedback (like glacial autoscroll), but is a nice bit of kit!

Thanks, iSilo.

ZX Reader

This seems to be the best alternative for Symbian devices

ZXReader

(reads txt and fb2 files)

Latest version is 1.4.0 and it supports displaying pictures.

(tested on Nokia E63, should work great with S60v5 phones too)

I actually am quite happy with iSilo for S60v5 which is now a full release version. You can get a python script on the net (it is against forum policy for me to link to it) that will convert ereader books you won to HTML, which allows you to convert them for iSilo using iSilox. I am now happily reading on my 5800.
