does 800 support mobile/prc format?

I load one .prc file into 800, and found that it can't be recognized by 800.

even the "SD Card" utility doesn't show the files with postfix of prc.

Are there anyone try to read prc files on 800?

All the best!

I don't think so. PRC are typically Mobipocket books, which the DR800 doesn't support.

Is there a way to convert it to a PDF or ePub?

If the MOBI is DRM-free, FBReader can read it if you install it on the DR800.

Off-line conversion from MOBI to ePub via Calibre also works very well.

are there any other problems?

The DR does not show the real content of the SD-card, but extracts information from it and stores it in a database. All the information that you see is coming from the database, even when using the 'SD Card'-view.
The database only contains files with 'known' extensions. The installer for FBReader currently 'installs' the following extensions: [pdb,fb2,zip,rtf,orb,tcr,opf,oebzip,chm] so if FBReader is properly installed you should see files with these extensions (after a restart). Note that prc is currently not in the list of extensions!
The stange thing is that you also do not see the file when using FBReader, are you sure that FBReader supports files of type prc?

Yes, FBReader does support prc. You can add this extension to the list in the file
Code:
\Programs\_fbreader\_ctbconf\etc\gconf\schemas\fbreader.schemas
and then re-run file associations.
Or as a simple workaround you can pack prc files into zip archive and add 'zip' extension. This would save some space in a card by the way.
Works for me either way.
