I have to say, that this shot from the video doesn't fill me with confidence. |

And I have to wonder how durable that light is going to be long term. Looks like something to break over time when it flattens to retract into the case and curves in use. |

You can't judge on the basis of a video. The reader itself is probably heavily inexperienced under-exposed because of the brightness of the light itself.

I'm going to burn in heck for this, but it needs to be said:
The features and price would have absolutely rocked...in 2011... |

$99 is the price of the PRS-T2.

I haven't seen the T3 yet of course, but my T1 and T2 charge from a USB charger. My wife and I have one in the bedroom, and just plug our readers in to charge overnight when needed.

Given the fact that my stylus clip on my Sony 350 broke off less than a year after I got the reader, I'd be loathe to trust any more Sony "movable" parts.
I'm not seeing anything to lure me away from my T1 at this point in time. The only thing that really interests me is the number of font sizes available; I'm wondering if they've made any changes there. Too many readers give a nice incremental increase for the smaller font sizes, but once you go into the larger fonts sizes the size goes from larger-than-normal to size "E" on an eyechart. Just what Sony readers are those? Every one of my Sony readers (950, 350, T1) charges just fine through a wall-wart, in fact, I NEVER use the computer to charge any of them.

Actually I had issues charging my 650 without a computer. I think it only liked a single one of my mini usb cables for wall charging, with the rest it just wouldn't go. |

PRS-300, no matter what cable is used, (it's noted in this forum somewhere), but it sounds as though Sony have stopped this practise. The T3 is looking like a good upgrade for me from my PRS-300 - which cost £169 at the time!
