Hah, too funny! Though I've been catching myself thinking what-if scenarios lately... mainly, what would I do if there was some freak occurrence where I had no access to electricity for an extended period? I think the Sony Reader would last the longest, but then what? Yikes, don't even want to think about it! Probably end up playing card games with whomever is around.

I think this is a valid point, but it should be addressable in software, especially with the high-density e-ink screens, by using thumbnail images of the pages. When we flip through pages rapidly, it's as much the general shape of the page that we recognize as anything, I think. For example, we recognize chapter beginnings and ends, pages with lots of dialog and line breaks, illustrations, etc. Those would all be visible in a thumbnail view. I'd really like to see this on the iLiad.

• You can throw them at people who dont like ebooks, and do not have to worry about your precious eReader.

you can't level a table with an ebook and if you use a reader the screen cracks and the table is wobbly again

The first apartment I had with my wife, the kitchen table has a slight wobble. I fixed it by putting an AOL CD under one of the legs.
and one reason ebooks suck is not enough restrictions. We need more DRM on them. |

I've had my kids sit on books to reach table tops while visiting at meal time. I wouldn't do it with my reader cause it wouldn't smell the same again.

ebooks suck because on a cold winter's night, we cannot burn an ebook to keep warm when we don't have enough money to pay the heating bill because we've bought a really expensive reading device to be able to read these ebooks that we cannot burn to keep warm because we are broke.
