PRS-505 buttons half-functioning, can't hard reset

I got my sony PRS-505 in Australia two months ago and I've been loving it (sony doesn't sell them here and any sort of ebook reader is hard to come by).

It had a small drop yesterday, but with the sturdy construction of the 505 I wasn't too scared when everything still appeared to be working. However, now I've found out that my ZOOM, MARK and MENU buttons aren't working.

I've tried soft resetting it, didn't work, and a hard reset won't work since the MARK button is non-functioning (VOL, Page numbers, both page turners and arrow keys are fine).

Even though I've only had it for a few weeks, the limited sony warranty is not covered outside the US

Totally at a loss as to what I can try next, without opening up and checking for any loss connections. Would appreciate any input you guys could offer me with, ie; reflashing firmware (I'm already running the latest) or alternative ways to hard reset it.

Did you get your 505 fixed? I had the same exact problem, never dropped it.

I sent mine to Sony and hopefully will be getting it back tomorrow. It's been at Sony since early December, I sure do miss it, can't wait to get it back.

Sure does sound like a loose connection to me. Are you brave enough to crack it open? You could also send it back to Sony (for a price, I'm sure).
