Conversion queue stops
Whenever I have a number of items in the queue to be converted, sooner or later Calibre finishes converting one book and fails to start another. All books still pending on the queue are listed as "waiting" and no error message appears. This happens regardless of whether I am actively using Calibre while it is converting, or have left Calibre in the background while doing something else, or have left Calibre in the foreground and gone away for hours.
The only remedy seems to be to quit Calibre and restart it, then find all the books I want converted and put them back in the queue. This problem is extremely consistent, and will happen any time I place more than one or two books in the queue. I'm presently converting from various formats to mobi, but I previously had the same problem (perhaps less consistently) when converting various formats to epub. The input format doesn't seem to determine whether the problem occurs either: I could convert five books from lit to mobi with no problem, and then a sixth lit book from the same source won't start. Thanks for any help you can provide; I really do love this app despite that I have a number of small difficulties with it. |

This problem *should* go away with calibre 0.6, which will be released ina couple of weeks, or if you're brave, you can try the betas.

I got this problem all the time running the 0.5.x series on Windows XP. It does not appear to happen any more running 0.6 beta 10.

I have bad news, unfortunately. I just installed 0.6.0 . I queued 12 books to convert. It got through two, and then the queue stopped in the same manner as with previous versions. I am running on the latest MacOS X with all updates applied.

On the last two or so books to finish, select the job in the Jobs Dialog, click 'Show job details', and post any error messages you see there. I'm thinking maybe a job failed and didn't report itself has having completed correctly.

This time it actually got through 10 books before halting, which is really much better than I've seen in a long time. Anyway, here are the logs requested:

Both those logs indicate nothing out of the ordinary can you also post the output from console.app when the queue stops.

Console has a lot of lines that look like this, going on throughout the successful conversions:

I have the same issue when moving even single books to library. I thought that it was pdf parsing that was somehow taking this long but for some books it takes inordinately long.
This has started happening after 0.6.0 upgrade. Earlier it would take 1-2 seconds to copy a pdf book. Macbookpro 10.5.7 with calibre 0.6.4 Here is calibre-debug output Quote:
Here is the console log Quote:

Calibre keeps using some recipes I deleted
I have experimented with a few recipes. Then I "unscheduled" them. Calibre continued to use them. Next, I deleted them. Calibre is still using them. How do I get rid of them? Where are they stored on my computer?
P.S. I really enjoy Calibre and download daily with it on my Kindle. Thank you. |

I am on windows XP and did a search. I could not find scheduler.pickle or anything close to it. What folder should it be in?

The same folder as the file global.py (which is the main calibre config file and must be present on your system for calibre to run)

It is normally stored under your user profile. You will have to have Explorer set to show hidden files to be able to find it.
