Sync'ing between readers using Calibre?

I have a Kindle DX. I also read books on my Android Tablet which runs Kindle for Android.

With books purchased through Amazon I can sync to furtherest place read. However, I can't do that with books that are imported from other sources such as the excellent titles that I've seen here, so far.

Can Calibre be used to perform this function or is there some other way to allow me to sync my readers?

Great question! I'd like to know the answer as well. I read on a K2, K3, iPhone and MacBook Pro. I gave up syncing when I started using Calibre for library management, but I sure did enjoy syncing while it lasted.

calibre does not support syncing last page read between device. This is to device and format specific to be easily implemented.

What a pity. Given the rise of tablets, smartphones and ebook readers, it seems that there is, or could be a market for some sort of data sync'ing app.
