JPG Thumbnails

Hi there,

I am currently using my PRS500 to read manga, but usually for a manga like DeathNote (2300+ images) it takes about 1.5 hours to load the data from the SD card, which I think is because it has to generate 2300 thumbnails. Is there a way to turn that feature off? Thanks.

Have you considered printing the Magna book in PDF and viewing it in that format? May be worth the experiment.

Have to agree there. For the reader the best option is to turn volumes to PDFs sized for the reader. Notice I said volumes. 2300 PDFs would not be an improvment over 2300 JPGs. About one volume in size works well as a balance between speed and size (averaging out around 200 pages).

My html-fu is way to weak this early in the morning but if you do a quick look you will find a couple very nice threads on how to do this that can make your life much easier. You can convert an entire volume to a PDF in about 5 minutes.

It is much easier to index, transfer and read Vol. 1-8 than it is all the individual pages of the volumes. Heck of a lot easier to find the pages you want to read.

Do you know what program I should use? I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0, but I don't use it much. How do I convert like 200 jpgs into one pdf file?
