Calibre v. 0.7.34 hangs on ubuntu 10.04.1

Hi.

From version 0.7.34 calibre hangs some time after I start it on my system ubuntu 10.04.1, kernel 2.6.32-27. I pressume it hangs when it starts to check for news (this is all without any reader connected).

Starting from terminal doesn't give any info. Calibre just "greys out" and stops responding. Also trying to force quit it leaves it hanging. I've tried to reboot several times after installation, no change.

Okay. I made it run for now by force quitting and then manually killing all calibre processes (and NOT rebooting - which I had done the other times).
I'll see how it works the coming days and if it starts hanging again I will try the debug command that I just found:
calibre-debug -g

You can tell if it is fetching news by looking at the jobs spinner at the bottom right. If your machine is hanging because of this go to Preferences - Behavior and change Job priority from Normal to Low. The news still gets fetched but your machine is still responsive.
