I subscribe to both through Magster in iTunes. I used to subscribe through FictionWise but then that folded, I tried to go through Amazon. I discovered to my disgust that the price in the Amazon Canada web site for a digital copy was almost twice of the same magazine in Amazon USA. I never received any reply to my numerous questions about this. I started the subsription again when Magster came into the scene and the price was reasonable.
I really want to support both these magazines but they make it really hard to do so. They seem to have no customer support at all and their ideas about digital magazines are bizarre. It is almost as though they don't really care about the customers and have little interest in selling issues. The last time I tried to contact them was for an electronic issue I received that had a missing page. Of course, no reply. |

I have always assumed that the poor customer service was because money is very tight, and the magazines are run on a shoestring budget, plus unfamiliarity with digital publishing.

Have you tried Google books? They list Asimov's for subscription, as individual issues or back issues. I know they download books as ePub and their magazines are listed as being formatted in ePub as well.

I still get Asimov's each month as a DRM-free epub from Nook.

I used to get my Analog from Fictionwise, and moved to Amazon when they stopped selling subscriptions. Back then I used a Kindle DX, but nowadays I use an Aura HD, so I'd prefer to get it in epub directly. But no epub store will sell it to the Netherlands, it seems. B&N won't, Kobo won't, and Google Books will sell it only through Magzter. So Amazon is still the only game in town for me. And to be able to convert to epub I must download a copy for my DX, as they will only send it to a physical Kindle, Kindle for Android or Kindle for iOS. And Alf's magic won't work on the latter two, AFAIK. |

I bought the latest issue of Asimov's two days ago from Nook. No problem at all. I had never bought it before although I have had an account for a year or two. I'm in the UK.

It does seem to be a curious restriction. It might be to do with the terms of the magazine's contract with authors. |
