I don't know much about the eBookwise other than there's a dedicated sub-forum under Other E-Book Readers here.<-Link

Taking one a part is easy and replacing the screen is also easy. What's not so easy is finding a replacement display in a price range that makes sense.

You could try lurking on eBay or craigslist to find a cheap 1150 and hope it's display is good or email ETI technical support to see if they can sell just the display or will do a repair/replacement.

You can send them an email about the problem. In the past they've responded quickly when I had problems with my readers.

Sorry about that turtle,
Thank you Katelyn for covering for me.

Turtle, eBooktechnologies is the supplier of the 1150 eBook reader. They call it the ETI-2.

when my screen broke, they had me mail them the old one, and they sent me a brand new one, the service fee was 50 dollars.. much better than buying a new one..
