A Red Dawn book, hum. I can't say that I've read any. I've read a few WW III books from the 70's/80's, but nothing since then. Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancey was a pretty good WW III book, but it was set in Europe. I thought that The Ten Thousand by Coyle was pretty good, as well, but that was also set in Europe.
There was a pretty good war game back in the 70's with everyone ganging up on the US. I think it was called Invasion USA. Last edited by pwalker8; 11-27-2012 at 07:58 PM. |

If you want a chilling non-fiction read, try Red Star Rogue by Kenneth Sewell. It's a scarey description of the sinking of the submarine, K-129 just off Hawaii and how evidence points to the fact a rogue KGB crew on the sub was attempting to launch a nuclear missile at Pearl Harbor. Very fast and sobering read.

Try "Invasion" by Eric L. Harry.
Amazon's blurb: No foreign army has ever set foot on American soil. Until now. After years of peace, China has awakened. Slowly, it has grown in power, extending its sphere of influence beyond the Asian continent. Now, it has launched a final assault against the only possible obstacle to world domination... The United States of America. I liked it. |

The British marched on Washington and burned the White House and other public buildings in 1814. They were also there, obviously, during the War of Independence. Whoever wrote the blurb needs to hit the history books (or Wikipedia).
