Kindle for PC Column's

Can we add or change any Columns in this program?

There is a "add to collection" option but its not in columns...

How do you understand which books you did read or its rating?

if these things are not possible couldt they add some other library option like "not in any collection"

i wonder Kindles book managment is bad as Kindle Pc?

What do you mean by columns? Columns of what? Collections are only list of books - nothing more. If you want to separate books you have read from unread, just add a collection for that. Books can be in more than one collection.

You'd really be a lot better off using a proper ebook library management tool, such as Calibre.

calibre exists in part because so many vendor apps don't get it right.

Kinde for PC is a perfectly adequate program... for downloading books into calibre. I wouldn't use it for anything else.

locate the folder than has your files that Kindle for PC stores your books in. Then open the folder with windows explorer or other file manager, and select the books and drag and drop them into calibre or use calibre's add book tool and point it to the folder than has the Kindle for PC books in it, but you have to understand that in that folder is also the other files that Kindle uses to keep up with location in the book as well as bookmarks etc.

One good way to set it up is: download all books that aren't in calibre already, to Kindle for PC.

In calibre, go to Preferences ==> Adding books == Automatic Adding
Set your Auto-add folder to the Kindle for PC folder (it should be "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Kindle Content").

calibre will automatically add all books from Kindle for PC, and delete the K4PC copy to avoid re-importing tomorrow.
Go to http://amzn.com/myk and set your default Kindle device to Kinde for PC. [WARNING: May only work in the U.S.A.] Whenever you buy new ebooks from amazon.com, they will automatically get queued for download to Kindle for PC.

Every once in a while, open Kindle for PC< allow it to download new books. Close Kindle for PC and forget about it.
calibre will add those books and clean up.
