Does Mobipocket not support graphic images?

I have one book in pdf, doc, and epub formats. The book has many graphical images represented by jpg files. When MobiPocket Creator "builds" on any of these files it strips the graphical images from the resulting file. Is this to be expected? Does anyone know of a way to get graphical images incorporated into a mobi file; readable by MobiPocket Reader?

Try using Calibre to convert to MOBI. I suggest starting with the ePub version.

Perhaps you have the image files in the wrong place; do you get any error messages from Mobi creator?

Your suggestion worked. Calibre building on an initial epub file generates a mobi file from which Mobipocket Reader generates the associated images.

For some reason Mobipocket Creator building on either a Word or epub file strips the images. It does copy the associated image file when building from a Word file, however Mobipocket Reader doesn't then link to the images therein. When I build from an initial epub file and subsequently manually copy the image file that the initial epub file linked to, Mobipocket Reader doesn't subsequently link to those images.

When I use Mobipocket Creator to generate a prc file from an initial Word file, the image file that Word file linked to is copied to the folder with the prc file. However, Mobipocket Reader doesn't associate the prc file with the image file. Please see my reply to Wallcraft for the complete set of results.

There seems to be some confusion here. Images in a Mobipocket file (and an ePub file) are "embedded" within the file; they are not linked externally.
