Try View Manager plugin, it creates sub-libraries which you can name as you like. Or maybe just restricted search can also be made 'always effective'. Like, 'find everything not tagged mine'.
Welcome to the MR and Calibre! |

Note that although the idea of using restrictions is a good one, it does not stop a knowledgeable user removing the restriction and finding such books. Calibre is designed as a 'personal' ebook library manager so has no built-in security features.

The Preferences:Sharing over the Net: can control what filters the 'Content Server' uses for the outside of Calibre connections.
This may be a case where moving the books to their own Library is 'better' than keeping them in a single Library. As been mentioned: Nothing obscures those books from a knowledgeable user

Thanks a lot for the replies,
I will simply keep those books out of Calibre, Just didn't want to get the libraries mixed up and risk accidental exposure. Thanks for all the replies everyone, loving Calibre, and this forum, |

if you still want to use those with files Calibre install and use a portable calibre for those books so you can keep it separate from your main library

Really good suggestion. You can have secret memory stick with secret books and no one will be wiser. Just make sure that 'real' Calibre is closed before switching to portable.
