It seems unlikely to me that they would release this in the UK , so this article is probably just plain wrong. However worth a read...

Given that .tv was sold years back to an american company rather than be used as a cctld, the chances of the site having anything to do with Tuvalu are somewhat low. :-)

I strongly suspect that this Sony event will essentially be a re-hash of whatever it is they're going to announce in NYC the previous day.

I'm actually hoping for the UK 300/600 release. It will be a lot easier to buy the 600 here than have a mate bring it back from the states when he visits in september. (Particularly as he's coming over just over a week from the Sonystyle release date. And I want to see some decent reviews before I take the leap, if I can't actually see the machine for myself.

Probably. Those Americans do need to have the opening, naturally, otherwise they'd be last in line

I seriously doubt this, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually did launch a color reader. After all, Sony has shown several times that they're willing to launch an overpriced product that has amazing new technology and almost zero audience (not that a color reader has zero audience, but at the price they'd ask I seriously doubt it would sell well). Witness their 11" OLED TV. Absolutely beautiful device, but I bet they haven't sold more than a few thousand. However, they can say they were first to market with an OLED TV.

FWIW a quick browse through the British Library's site does not reveal anything scheduled for 26th August, nor does anything come up on a search for 'sony'

There is an event, We have an invite. Right now we're trying to figure out who can go.

If I browse the bol.com site they don't even mention an announcement. Nor does Sony. I guess they're on invite only.
