From the Atlantic: the early days of print...
...resemble the early days of ebooks...

Fortunately its not from the Price-Fix Five. And yes, it *is* available in ebook form. Not cheap, though. |

... and the ebook, at least, is cheaper than the cheapest print edition (in this case $3 cheaper than the hardcover).
But wait! What's this? Quote:
And, for what's it worth, the hardcover is $3 more from Barnes and Noble and they have the ePub edition higher than the paper edition. So buy the ebook from Amazon and save 25% over B&N. |

It was interesting that what the new medium was initially used for wasn't what it became. There are a lot of areas where the current devices mimic books when they don't need to (using pages rather than scrolling for example); it will be interesting to see over the coming years how much the interface to text changes once we realise that we don't need to be bound by the rules of ink and paper. Also, the content is very book-like, whereas it could be much more dynamic. One can imagine the boundaries between books, movies and games becoming more blurred.
I also liked the news in verse! |
