Is $80 normal for an omnibus?
The ebook collection consists of 13 novels including bonus material. I've never bought a collection in ebook form so I don't know what they're usually priced at. Have you ever bought a collection that costs that much or close to that amount?

I would say that it is a little pricy.

I would say that though it sounds a little pricey, it all depends on what the books are and how much they would cost seperately.

13 novels for $80 is $6.15 or so per book. So whether it's a deal or not depends on the original pricing of each individual novel.

Then it's very overpriced. For a bundle of thirteen ebooks of that sort of individual price, I'd be unhappy paying more than $60.
But perhaps the extras are incredibly important to you. In which case, perhaps the extra cost is worth it to you over the individual books prices. |

then unless you want the convenience (dubious) of an omnibus, it's cheaper to buy the books as individuals.
I don't like omnibus volumes - if I want to read a specific book, it's hard to find it. |

seems a bit pricey. A quick look at Amazon shows most omnibus priced under $5.00 for 3 books, and less than half the price of individual purchases, although there are exceptions.
I prefer individual books myself, as I can be fickle at times |

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I'm going to buy each book individually as it's much cheaper that way and I decided the bonus material isn't that important for me to have.

Yeah, I don't like omnibuses for e-books - the books are treated like chapters; the "furthest read" functionality doesn't work unless you read the books in order; and searches search the entire omnibus (which might be helpful for academic purposes, but which is less helpful for things like "who is this guy again?")

Some omnibuses seem to be thrown together, especially ebooks. Good idea to go for the separate volumes.

plugin with calibre. There is a lot you can do to customize your new merged book, right in calibre. 13 books is quite a lot I haven't done one that big, but I have made some of 5 or 6 books. [Edit; I did do the Flinx and Pip series of 12 books.] Luck; Ken Last edited by Ken Maltby; 04-25-2013 at 12:10 AM. |

The only reason I buy an omnibus is because they're usually cheaper than buying individual volumes. Even then, I just disinfect the omnibus and divide it into individual epubs via Calibre+EpubSplit. If the individual books are cheaper, then I'd rather buy those from the get go.
