Windows 8 Kindle App
Anyone know where the books are stored on the HD?
I want to put a couple into Calibre and convert them to ePub, but can't find them. They are no longer in "My Kindle Content" in the My Documents folder. Doing a search came up nadda. |

I'm running Win8 and, at least for me, they're under
C:\Users\<your name>\Documents\My Kindle Content |

I'm not using the application from the website, I'm using the APP from the Windows STORE. I don't know if that helps or not. If I use the actual application it puts it there....I'm going to be going back to using that if I don't find an answer soon

I'm having the same problem. Can't find the downloaded books on my pc. Help. Need to copy them into my Calibre library!
Edit: Had to end up installing the Windows 7 etc desktop version. Still interested in finding out where downloaded books are stored using Kindle for Windows 8 though. Last edited by Trini; 11-22-2012 at 07:05 PM. |

I have no idea, I couldn't find them, I just installed the PC Program again rather than the Windows 8 App

It's very strange. According to Amazon's faq downloading the books in their Kindle for Windows 8 app will enable you to read the books offline. Therefore one would expect that they should be dowloaded onto your computer's hard drive. Where..who knows. Seems we don't have access to the "Metro" disk location.

Im guessing it's a different extension, with a different name, proprietary to their app.

Download a new book and search for *.* then sort by date of creation. Might work...
