Yes -
There is (by design) little or no support for legacy devices in libata. I do have some machines here old enough, that DO require "legacy" support to be enabled (but I haven't tried KUBRICK on them). |

I have fixed my kindle. I seriously wanted this not to work but I tried the lame "reset to factory defaults" and it seems to be working so far. I dunno how I didnt try this before, I suppose its because hard reset and simmilar things didnt work I thought this surely wont work too. Thanks for your time anyways |

I'm confused... If you had access to the Menu's anyways? but that aside...
Thanks for confirming that a few CD/DVD's don't have full support yet. that's in itself invaluable. Appreciate that. |

What still confuses me the range of the problem I have on my kindle. So I havent really been doing anything on it except kept hard resetting it and charging. At start I only had to hard reset it, later it only gave any response when connected to the pc and it was recognized as the processor thing, then later after a few reset I could again boot the kindle and get to factory reset.
The thing is that my kindle still isnt 100% working. Since my last post it froze again but hard reset got it working. Unfortunately, I dont thing the problems are over, I suppose Im going to have to do something big like reinstall OS or something to be sure the problems are fixed |

Thanks so much for this!
Thanks to you, I now have my Kindle downgraded from 5.3.2.1 to 5.1.2! I didn't even have to backup my books, they're all still there!

I was trying to upload version 3.3 to ge.tt, I've managed to upload the CDs, but the upload is painfully slow for a week now, therefore I've failed to upload the DVD (I've tried several times, giving up).
So I've mirrored the DVD to a new location: http://ulozto.net/xQpGmvA/kubrick-k3-k4-k5-zip |

Grrr, now I've realised k4-k5 CD is somewhat screwed on ge.tt...
Uploaded to a new location as well: http://ulozto.net/x3kRAtT/kubrick-k4-k5-zip |

Just to make the collection complete (+ enjoying ulozto 2MB/s upload speed):

Amazing! A 3-year-old could use this! We should tell Amazon about this so tech support could use this if they can't fix it (which happens MUCH more often than you would think; I once talked to a Kindle Specialist who didn't even know what LIPC was). All in all, great work!

We tend on the side of politeness now. Biting the hand that feeds us just got us sore teeth. That said, one and all are welcome to the tools and I have to agree that these tools are now lightyears ahead of even just a year or so ago.
Huge respect to those who were kind enough to give their time, effort, research, resources and energy into making the simple to use tools we have today. Hip Hip Hurray for the giants. From your shoulders we do cheer. |

@twobob,dsmid: thanks a lot for keeping the mirrors (and post) up-to-date!
@dito: Since you are the only one who reported problems so far - would you please test an experimental version? The ISO image is here. It includes a kernel where I've enabled pretty much all PATA options I could find. Please try to boot from that CD image and report back whether it works. @all: Note that this is NOT a working Kubrick release. It does not contain the files for flashing ANY device, and it won't even start the Wizard. The only purpose of this image is to find out if dito's CD (or DVD) drive is correctly recognized. If it is, then I will release a new Kubrick version soon. @dito: If it works, you should see a line saying "EVERYTHING OK :-)" at the end of the boot process. If it doesn't, well... you'll see the usual error message. Please try this and report back - thank you! EDIT 2013-04-13: Note that the linked file has been removed, because it is obsolete now.
