Hey,

I won a Kindle 3 (no 3G, just wi-fi) in an office contest. I'd never even thought about buying one before, but I love it. I would have been missing out.

I've been lurking for the last month and the forum is a great source of information. Kudos to the administrators and moderators.

Some favourite reads from the recent past:

Douglas Coupland, Generation A
Scarlett Thomas, The End of Mr. Y
H.G. Wells, The War of the Worlds
Terry Brooks, The Word and the Void
Peter Morville, Ambient Findability
Italo Calvino, Italian Folktales

I'm looking for some suggestions on what to read next and what seems to be popping out to me is:

Scarlett Thomas, Our Tragic Universe
Catherynne Valente, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland...
Terry Pratchett: Thud!
Genevieve Valentine: Mechanique: A Tale of the Circus Tresaulti
Steve Krugg, Don't Make Me Think

Any suggestions or advice on Valente's work would be appreciated as I know little about her.
