The thing they should do before turning out the lights is let us have the SDK they use. There are many people here that could put it to very good use.

With a decent SDK or even better, sources for ermine, we could possibly make a custom version of 3.0 like they did with the nook, which would be quite nice.

You're assuming they even have an SDK laying around for their own use. It's not unheard of for companies to just write ad hoc code rather than having a coherent framework for their upgrades.
