[Closed] Issues with Version 6

Created this thread mainly to discourage reporting of V6 issues in the beta test thread.

I lost my window geometry settings, e.g. the free standing Book Details (press I) window was off screen. I find this irritating because I'm spatially OCD -- dislike of things not being where I left them - or thought I'd left them. I suspect like most things, its a Qt effect.

Yeah there arent any changes to window geometry code in calibre, so if there is something different it will come from Qt.

There seem to be problems with selecting books with the mouse with Wayland (I'm using the most recent Fedora version). It's hard to describe, I cannot use the mouse to select a book.

I used Generate Covers plugin and installing version 6 has wiped them clean. All my settings, except default images etc are gone.

That's a bug with kwin. kwin prevents mouse clicks on the book list from working once you right click on it. Restarting kwin will fix it. Or just use X11 give wayland another decade to become useable.

By the way, I'm using Gnome not KDE.

Which version of Gnome? Fedora is using Gnome-42.

Uninstalled; rolled back to 5.44 all works normally. Performed the update again: same exact problem.

Running Win10 Pro and up-to-date on updates/etc. Any ideas?

something is preventing calibre from accessing that file. check the usual suspects antivirus, ransomware protection, etc.

I have no ransomware protection installed; Avast! does not report any interference whatsoever -- and as I said, a reinstall of the earlier version of Calibre restores functionality. Whatever is happening here is related only to version 6.

Yes, the Qt functionality it was based on is gone. Now adjustment is automatic.
