Baen DRM problem
Just bought a few books from Baen but I receive this message when I try transfer them from Adobe DE to my Kobo Aura HD
"Error: Monster Hunter Legion No permission to copy document here" Any thought to why? You can open and read them in the program. |

Baen don't use DRM. Try copying the book to your Kobo manually.

Just download to a pc from Baen and then move the file to your reader witout using Adobe!
Baen don't do DRM, you don't need to use Adobe. |

That message sounds like a Geo Restriction. Not DRM

No, it sounds as if ADE's trying to copy them to the wrong folder. But you don't need to use ADE at all - just download the ePub files from Baen and copy them directly to the Kobo.

Technically you're correct-because DRM covers all digital rights. Most people use DRM to mean encryption though and that's not required to enforce Geo restrictions. OTOH I've never heard of Geo restrictions affecting transfers, only purchases/downloads.

As Harry mentioned, this message sounds like ADE trying to transfer a file to folder on a device that either A) doesn't exist, or B) it doesn't have permissions to write to.

Guys, Baen don't use DRM or geo-restrictions; this is not a DRM problem in any way, shape, or form .

I sightly misread the problem.
I read Baen (title) and assumed that it was bought from some store other than Baenebook.com 3rd parties CAN put DRM or other restrictions on sales they make. |

They can indeed, but the OP specifically says he bought the books FROM Baen.

Geo-restrictions have nothing to do with DRM. It's when you go to buy the eBook that you are blocked by the site based on where you are at the time of purchase.

Not always. I once bought an ePub (Adobe DRM) and the Adobe Content Server for the vendor blocked me from downloading the book due to my location. The vendor ended up sending me a DRM free copy of the book by email.
