"You click power, its gone. You click again, it's back" Very straight to the point those guys.

Did he say 200 bucks? That would be an awesome price.

This is the one...
Ebook, notebook, scratchpad, calendar, contacts. Camera for documentation, annotation, etc. Somebody finally figured out what such a device is for. No movies, no chat, etc. Can't wait. cap |

Would be great if it had the horsepower and software to do the pen stuff decently. Too bad really.

I'm willing to bet that it's not a horsepower issue, but a software one.
The pen stuff itself seems snappy -- it's the way that they're accessing files that looks to be slow. Guaranteed that they built everything with way too much overhead, or some stupidly master interface. But it's linux, so it's correctable. cap |

The lights reflecting on the screen give a good idea of what it will be like to read on.

It'll be no worse than any other screen with a glass surface, as long as it's matte, not glossy. If light is reflecting in your face, you'll move the device. On par with the Jetbook, which uses similar screen tech. I like reflective/transflective LCD.

The price is too good to be true, I guess it will be closer to $300-$400 range when (and if) it is released. Still, very nicely targeted device. Running Linux, too.
I definitely want to buy one. |

As a college (engineering) student I'm very excited for this tablet. Pen based text input, a camera for taking pictures of diagrams, a web browser to check email and possibly submit assignments directly from the device. The screen is large enough to read larger technical documents. The battery life is nice and the price is right!

I suspect they're running on the cheapest processor they could find. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were using the same processor as the jetBook. Last edited by LDBoblo; 06-13-2010 at 05:27 AM. |
