Glad to have found this place

Hello all,

I'm looking to buy my first e-reading device soon, as soon as I can find one that does what I want, that is. With the appearance of the +10" readers I think I'm almost there.

I'm a graphic artist specialising in book layout. I have been producing press-ready PDF's for the last 5 years.

My interest is both personal - I have always read a lot, and professional.

You'll find lots of like minded people here also.

Be sure and check out all the free books here you can download to your computer in the meantime.

Welcome to MobileRead.

With the ready availability of electronic book readers, it would be interesting to take a look at new design principles when the designer is *not* in control of the font size or how much text winds up on a given "page". I would really like it if the reader software -- whether at conversion time or display time -- would base the eventual output on the CSS print profile. As a techie, it would mean only a single set of knowledge/skills to learn to create markup and style sheets.
