Kobo Mac app doesn't work without eReader setup

Hi,
Lately my Kobo Mac app behaves a bit strangely. I think this happened after a update. Basically, now when I open the Kobo app I always get the Welcome page for the eReader setup. I only have the option to set up a Kobo ereader (which I don't have). If I cancel, it quits the app completely.
Before I could just use the app without having a Kobo eReader ... has this changed? Is there a possible workaround?

To fix your app problems you should uninstall it and then go to http://www.kobobooks.com/desktop and download the app for the Mac. This version of the desktop should allow you to complete the install without requiring a Kobo. In contrast, the desktop app at www.kobosetup.com requires a Kobo to complete the installation.

Many thanks for your reply! I installed the app a long time ago and it has been working properly. This problem only started recently - maybe it is connected with an update. I'll try to reinstall it.
