Valloric,
Do you intend to workout the wrinkles in 4.0 prior to turnover or leave it to the new maintainer?

We'll miss you. You do tend to get a little colorful at times.

I plan on working out the wrinkles in 0.4.0 before leaving, yes. Visual Studio is open as we speak.

Some years ago, a book I think entitled "The Ghost in the Machine", was written about the design and construction of a new computer. The description of the process was fascinating. It covered the CPU in some detail.

Perhaps your thesis could be published, in ePub of course, to show the design and construxtion process of Sigil. It would be very interesting to read.

You just have to convince your new employer to pick up Sigil and leave you as project manager. The best of all worlds.

The book was "Soul of a New Machine" by Tracy Kidder describing designing the Data General answer to DEC's VAX minicomputer.

I agree that having Valloric's thesis in ePub would be great.

Meh, it's not such a fun read. Trust me, I know.

It was written for a very specific audience and that makes for very dry reading (it's not what you'd call "colorful"). It also doesn't cover the entire history of development (that would be too long), it covers what was done and why.

Also, the whole thing's in Croatian. A lot of good that would do you.
