Covers are valid! Look, it's in the rules! Check them!
Especially when they're Olympics-related: |

Remix...why, that's crazy talk!
~sigh~ Man, I've danced to this and similar from midnight 'til dawn under the big disco ball at the Hordern Pavillion, drug-free (truly!). Mardi Gras...it's been a long time. Cheers, Marc |

The best way to save yourself from this is to run Firefox with flashblock. Then you will be saved.

One of the best ABBA songs, sadly unreleased in a completed form:
ABBA - Just Like That Since covers appear to be allowed, here's an artist that I discovered via ABBA's music: Beverly Craven - The Winner Takes It All |

Why? Some people like the music of ABBA, some are fanatics, and others don't like or hate ABBA. I like ABBA, they are my second or third favorite group, with the Carpenters first and either ABBA and Gilbert O'Sullivan taking the second place depending on my mood.
That is why I'm thankful for this thread. It gives us ABBA fans a place to discuss a group that we like. It also gives us a chance to find some songs that we may not be aware of (and there is still a potential 10th ABBA album). ABBA may not be considered a cool group by many, but like many other "uncool" groups/acts (Barry Manilow, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Gene Cotton, Rupert Holmes, The Monkees, the Partridge Family, Edward Bear, Valdy, and The Captain and Tennille are just a few that come to mind) they did release some great music. As ABBA matured, they released many songs that were far more emotional and mature than their earlier songs. As an example, I'd put ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All" against any song when it comes to sheer emotional power. Thanks for reading. |
