Smile Can PRS-600 transfer files without eLibrary?

Help!

Anyone kindly let me know whether PRS-600 can read PDF/Word files in SD card that are copied directly from a Computer, but NOT from its eLibrary software?

Any copyright restriction on it?

THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Another question,

If I have read several different books in my 600, can it recognize each ending point for every file, or its " continue reading" functions only for the last ONE book?

THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, All People who support/read/answer my threads!

God will give particular love and help to those kindness~~~

Check out calibre -- great ebook library management software, totally free. Its support forum is down the board a ways.

Yes, you can read books directly from an SD or ProDUO card inserted into the reader, as long as they are in a format it can read. PDF and RTF are fine. It reads DOC format by converting to RTF if I'm not mistaken.

It will remember your last read page for any book you open, but the shortcut will only appear on the homescreen for the most recent one.

Thank you very much, Mr. Upstairs! for your kindly help.

I have another question, When reading a PDF file in a reformatted manner ( pure text, not zoom in/out), can I still do the notetaking or highlighting? and Will the system remember those addings?

THANKSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

Yes, you can definitely do the note taking and highlighting and it will save those just like in any other file type.

No need. If the screen is 6" or smaller, PDF won't work well overall. Most PDF you will find are made for letter size paper and they won't display all that well on a smallish ink screen.

Even if pdfs are not that well suited for 6" or smaller screens, for my purposes the 600 is the best pick so far. I think it handles the pdfs quite well and with zooming (either pan and zoom or font size zoom) it works ok for most of my needs
