"author" and "author sort" fields

My Calibre library shows the authors in the format of the "author" field (i.e. first name, last name) but in the order of the author sort field (i.e. last name, first name), which is just how I want it. However, when new books are uploaded to my Kindle, they appear in both the format and the order of the author field.

For example, in the Caibre library list, John Buchan's books are listed above Jeffrey Farnol's, but on my Kindle, Farnol's books appear above Buchan's.

Please can somebody tell me how I get the Kindle list to look the same as the Calibre one?
