Standalone Server(linux) version just for collecting news?

Hi,
I have been using calibre to fetch news from WSJ, FT.com, NYtimes etc. I leave the software running on my computer all the time and download the files using Kindle's browswer. However, I'm also running my own linux server. I wonder whether we could make a command line version of calibre which just fetch news and covert to mobi?

Thanks
