I am going to cast my vote for Thin Blood. The reviews look great and I like the idea of supporting an independent author. Regardless I am looking forward to participating in the book club. Take care.

Thin blood already has three nominations. Re-read the first message in this thread if you're not sure what I mean by that.

The year is 1954. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his new partner, Chuck Aule, have come to Shutter Island, home of Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Multiple murderess Rachel Solando is loose somewhere on this remote and barren island, despite having been kept in a locked cell under constant surveillance. As a killer hurricane bears relentlessly down on them, a strange case takes on even darker, more sinister shades--with hints of radical experimentation, horrifying surgeries, and lethal countermoves made in the cause of a covert shadow war. No one is going to escape Shutter Island unscathed, because nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is what it seems. But then neither is Teddy Daniels.
I second Shutter Island. I've recently seen the film and I'd like to read the book, cause a friend of mine says Lehane to be a very good author.

Really? I disliked this book a lot. Too rushed and vulgar. The latter might have worked if the book had better pacing and more depth and characterization than it did. I could see people liking this better than I did if they were into that genre a little more, but all-time favourite author? From THAT book?
