Mistakenly overwrote edited epub file -- Can I recover?

After editing an epub file in Sigil, I mistakenly overwrote it in Calibre using a Lit to epub conversion instead of an intended epub to epub conversion.

Is there anyway to recover this file? Does Calibre have some sort of a cache or history where I can get it back from? Does Sigil?

The edited version does exist on my Touch's Stanza but AFAIK, there is no way to get the file off of Stanza back to my PC. Or is there?

Any help will be appreciated. I feel like a real dope for doing this as I had done this by accident once before and should have known better to delete the Lit file once I didn't need it anymore.

I'm on Windows XP3.

I am pretty sure you can get the stanza file but don't know anything about apple.
I would just try emailing it to yourself as an attachment if possible

If you have a Jailbroken iphone you can get the stanza file. You'll also need some sort of iphone filesystem viewing software on the PC. I use Phoneview on the Mac, not sure of its equivalent. The epub gets exploded in Stanza, so there won't be a single proper file, but you should be able to get all your edits in separate files to rebuild the epub.

speakingtohe, there is no email function in Stanza on the Touch.

ldolse, I looked into it & found that a Touch 3G can't be jailbroken right now if one has updated to iOS 4.02 and didn't save a certain file called "SHSH blob" beforehand. I didn't save mine beforehand as I had no intention to revert to an earlier iOS at that point. Now I wish I hadn't installed the update.

I'm resigned to re-doing the work over. It's about 2 hours worth of work. I've learned my lesson the hard way to be more careful when converting and also to save backups when editing.

Thanks for your suggestions.
